The facts may startle you. More than one in ten children will be sexually abused before their 18th birthday. Ninety percent (90%) of those are abused by someone they know. Seventy-three percent (73%) do not tell anyone about the abuse for at least a year. Some never tell. The physical and psychological impacts of child sexual abuse last well into adulthood, affecting one’s social, emotional, educational and economic well-being. But child sexual abuse is preventable. By learning the facts and taking steps to minimize opportunities and respond to suspicions and disclosures, adults can help keep all of our children safe!
Children’s Center – Prevention and Education Program is offering the Stewards of Children – Prevention of child sexual abuse –Darkness to Light online workshop in English and Spanish for FREE.
